find dishes like the grilled chicken breast, roasted Anaheim chilies, red onion & tomato,
($8.25), has a magical contrast between the spicy chili and succulent chicken. Don’t miss
the New York pepper steak with cabernet sauce and sun-dried tomatoes, ($14.95). The fresh
fish, which changes daily such as sea bass ($12.95), is a great choice. Also save room for
desserts which are homemade and almost always worth the calories. |

Trattoria Mollie
1250 Coast Village Road
Santa Barbara, CA
(805) 565-9381 |
|
If I was going to die tomorrow, tonight I'd want to have dinner at Trattoria Mollie. And
I would order seconds of most of my favorite dishes. It's enough that Mollie is one of the
most dynamic and charming people in the restaurant business, but she has a talent in the
kitchen that even rivals her bubbly personality. Start with a pizza margarita. It is
simple and perfect, the way a great pizza tastes in Europe. Then order an arugula and
bresola salad. Savory and refreshing. Mollie's bread will bring tears to your eyes, it
is always warm, fresh from the oven and the olive oil dipping sauce is addictive. For
a main course, her fresh homemade pastas are excellent and she grills a wonderful
streak Florentine style. Don't miss her homemade gelatos, especially the chocolate,
crema and coffee.
