1. Santa Barbara Municipal Airport is the primary airport within the Santa Barbara Class C Airspace. Pilots must contact Santa Barbara Approach prior to entering the Class C.
2. CAUTION-Mountainous terrain immediately north of the field in a ridge running parallel to the coast. Foothills start 2 miles north of the field. The crest (4,000 feet MSL and higher) is only 4.5 miles north of the field.
3. In reporting your position to the Tower or Approach, keep in mind that the coastline at Santa Barbara runs almost due east and west - not north and south!
4. Due to highier terrain ENE of field, radar coverage may be lost below 2,000'.

1. Avoid flying over the University (UCSB) buildings 1 mile southwest. Maintain at least 1,000 feet until past the University area foi noise abatement.
2. Straight-ins to Rwy 25 are discouraged due to noise abatement. For landing Rwy 25 expect instructions to report offshore 2 miles SE for left base entry.
3. Aerial firefighting activities summer and fall. Pilots should remain clear of tanker base, and be preparrd to yield to tankers opperating from airport.
